Check out the many sites online selling eco-friendly reusable cotton pads. The prices are very reasonable depending on the amount in the set; some are plain, and some are patterned. Many people advise that makeup can stain white facial pads, so it’s up to you whether you use white or not. However, I noticed the majority for sale are white.

Cut the circles (you could choose squares) from cotton waffle fabric or towelling; some people also cut out pieces of cotton fabric. A round lid or jar about 7.62cm (3 inches) wide works well as a template. After cutting them out, place one cotton round on top of the waffle fabric or towelling round and neaten the edges with a zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine. Store these pads in a jar or similar container.

3) DIY crochet from cotton yarn using odds & ends

For these cotton pads, you need to know how to crochet. They are, however, simple and ideal for the beginner. Go online and learn some simple stitches; Youtube is a perfect way to learn to crochet, knit, paint, woodwork or anything.

After a while, towels can look tatty around the edges, but the towel itself is still fine. One bath towel would make a lot of pads. Or use a couple of old hand towels.
